Joan M. Wimmer

 

Joan M. Wimmer, 56, of Westgate, died Monday, July 22, 2013, at her home.

A celebration of life visitation will be held Friday, July 26, 2013, from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Becker-Milnes Funeral Home in Sumner. Following the visitation friends and family are invited to Joan’s home for refreshments and fellowship. 

Joan Marie, daughter of Donald E. Ritter, II and Joan Marie Gnade, was born June 1, 1957, at Guthrie Center, Iowa.  She moved with her family to Arizona and later to Colorado. In 1990, she was united in marriage with Thomas A. Wimmer in Colorado Springs, Colorado. Among her pleasure were gardening, animals and all living things, unicorns, and the freedom experienced while riding motorcycles.

In addition to her husband, Tom of Westgate, she is survived by two sons, Tom (Christine) Billingsley of Janesville and Cory (Trisha) Billingsley of Oelwein; six grandchildren, Colton, Caden, and Ashton Billingsley, and Dylan, Peyton, and Kordell Lawless; one brother, Tim (Regina) Ritter of Arizona; and one sister, Sharmaine Redfield of Sumner.

She was preceded in death by her parents and one brother, Donald E. Ritter, III.

another former Datacom co-worker yes Joan was one heck of a great lady. Her laugh made you smile even if you wanted to scream. She leaves a big void.
